Federation of Pakistan - WP 958/2013) at the Lahore High Court are important, futuristic but have raised concerns from the perspective of larger Internet and human rights in the country. This is a writ petition by Bytes for All, Pakistan supported by Media Legal Defence Initiative (MLDI).

Islamabad, April 14, 2013: To challenge rampant censorship, surveillance and Internet filtering in the country, taking the legal route, Bytes for All (B4A), Pakistan in collaboration with Media Legal Defence Initiative (MLDI) through their pro bono legal counsel Mr. Yasser Latif Hamdani lodged a writ petition in Lahore High Court in January 2013.

While the video remains, Youtube is now inaccessible for all the citizens including small and large businesses, civil society organizations, educational and research institutions.

Islamabad, August 23, 2012: ARTICLE 19 and Bytes for All, Pakistan, condemn the authorities in Pakistan for the practice of implementing regional and city-wide bans on mobile phone networks – so-called ‘kill switch’ tactics - in Balochistan and other parts of the country.  The kill switch has been implemented at times of national celebration, most recently on Eid Day on 20 August 2012.
